How do I use the flower I have been prescribed?

To use your prescribed flower, you will need to purchase a medical-grade vaporising device.

Vaporisers work by gently heating the flower to a temperature that releases active compounds as a vapour, without burning the plant material. This process differs from smoking, which involves combustion – the burning of the plant – and produces smoke along with potentially harmful by-products.

Although vaporisers are often associated with tobacco alternatives (such as e-cigarettes), the devices used for flowers are specifically designed and approved for the controlled and effective delivery of cannabinoids and terpenes. These medical-grade vaporisers should not be confused with general-purpose or nicotine-based vape devices.

Research indicates that heating flower to temperatures between approximately 170°C and 200°C allows for the efficient release of cannabinoids (such as THC and CBD) and terpenes, while avoiding combustion. Combustion typically occurs at temperatures around 230°C or higher, which can destroy beneficial compounds and produce harmful substances.

We’re pleased to let you know that a variety of vaporiser devices, suitable for both dried flower and vape cartridges, are available through the Montu Store under the Accessories tab. When selecting products, each device will indicate whether it is compatible with flower or cartridges so please double-check compatibility before making a purchase.
